Metal components which are produced by the sheet metals are one of the great interests in industry. The punch and die are the tools which are used to form these metal sheets. By the use of these tools, final and favorable shape of metal parts are obtained. The punches and dies are usually made of steels and for hardening them, heat treatment is the next step of production. Heat treatment also causes better abrasive properties. The clearance between punch and die should be chosen carefully, otherwise the work piece will not be produced in accordance with requested dimensions or will be torn in dies instead of being cut. Actually, these parts are subjected to stress, friction and abrasive wear, so PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) hard coatings such as CrN, TiN, TiAIN, TiCN can be used to improve their lifetime. These coatings provide desired abrasive resistance, high hardness, low friction coefficient which make the parts resistance against abrasive, corrosive and adhesive wear. Furthermore, applying these coatings causes reduction of the lubricant usage. Nanostructured coatings are developed to get better abrasive and frictional properties. In fact, nanostructured coatings offer better properties in all aspects.
