Antibacterial air filter of evaporative coolerAntibacterial air filter of evaporative cooler containing nanoparticles
A particulate air filter is a device composed of fibrous materials which removes solid particulates such as dust, pollen, mould, and bacteria from the air. Antibacterial air filter can be used in evaporative cooler to prevent the growth of bacteria which arises from the existence of humidity inside that. By adding silver nanoparticles to the fabric of the filter, contaminant-attacking ions are released within that, stopping the growth of bacteria.
This product is an antibacterial air filter containing silver nanoparticles which is used in an evaporative cooler to prevent the growth of bacteria.
In nano-dimension, antibacterial effect of silver increases significantly, so that they are able to destroy over 650 bacterial species. It is reported that these nanoparticles have significant antifungal activities against some ringworms. Ag nanoparticles interact with sulfur and phosphorus compounds of membrane proteins affecting cell morphology and structure, causing its death. With decreasing particle size, the release of silver ions increases, leading to increasing their antibacterial activities.
The concentration of Ag in this product is 165 ppm. It shows high antibacterial activity according to INSO 11070 (Textiles- Determination of antibacterial activity of textile products). The following table clarifies how high its activity against E.coli and S.aureus bacteria is.
